Liverpool

Liverpool

A lot of people don't know this about me but I am really interested in football. My favourite team is obvisouly Liverpool. When I was a kid I used to switch who I supported based on who was winning like any other kid. But when I was about seven I started to support Liverpool and I've stuck with them ever since.
My favourite thing to do on a Sunday is go to the pub for some food and to watch their matches. There is no better feeling when you see the ball hit the the back of the net and the whole room jumps up in excitement fists clinched and when you see everyone's face light up with joy, it's the best!

My favourite player is the captain Steven Gerard. When I was about 11 I read his autobiography about his life. When he was a boy he played at his hometown team of Whiston Juniors when he was noticed by Liverpool scouts. he joined the Liverpool Academy at the age of nine. He finally signed a professional contract with Liverpool in November 1997 and the rest is history. Gerard has always been interesting to big clubs like Real Madrid but he always stayed at the Anfield as that is where his heart is. Gerard has become a Liverpool legend and always has a place in our hearts.
Unfortunately I have never been to the Kop but it is one of my dreams to go and watch the boys at Anfield sometime soon I hope!

Bath Bombs

In chemistry last week we made bath bombs. To make the bath bombs we had to mix citric acid and sodium hydroxicide. Then we had to add colouring and a little bite of oil and we could also add a scent. Our first one was a disaster. We tried to make a purple colour but it ended up looking awful so we stated again. Our second one turned out better we made a light pink colour bath bomb but instead of using the schools scent we added some of my perfume. After that one we made another one but this one was blue. But we couldn't bring them home to use because they weren't tested on skin properly so we just put them in a basin and watched them fiz out. It was really fun.

My Digital Dossier

     My Digital Dossier

After watching the video on the Blog Challenge page about our digital dossiers it made me really think about all the stuff you do on the internet. I mean we already have a digital life before we are even born and I suppose in a way that is kind of scary. By this I mean we have already left our footprint in the digital world before we have actually entered it which is crazy.
Also, after the video it made me think of all things I have filled out on the internet from filling out questions when trying to log in to wifi or when you fill out your details to log in to the App Store. All of this information has been stored into a folder which contains everything we have ever done on the internet from logging into facebook or to shopping on sites like miss guided. I think that it is crazy to think that everything I do on the internet  is stored away in some place that I don't know about.
In conclusion, I think we really have to think about what we do on the internet and what we want to have in our files and what we don't want to have under our names.

Fun Walk and Walk in my Shoes

Fun Walk and Walk in my Shoes

On the 2nd of October we had our fun walk. This year the TY's had to wear yellow. Normally we have our fun walk on a Friday but the weather was predicted to be awful. Our whole class was sent into panic mode because we found out on the Tuesday that the fun walk day would be changed. We were so annoyed because we still had to choreograph our whole dance and we had work experience on the Wednesday so we only had Thursday morning to figure out our whole dance!
We came in on Thursday morning and started planning everything straight away. Because we had to wear yellow and our name was Ariel we decided to do the Little Mermaid. We would all be Flounder the yellow fish and Sarah would be Ariel. To link the idea with  concept of friendship Mr. Lawless would dress up as a shark who we would all be afraid of but he actually just wanted to be friends with us. We thankfully finished our dance and it was actually quite good. After this we had to go to the Opening School Mass. After the mass we had lunch but instead of eating my lunch me and Eve had to do everyone's facepaint but I didn't mind. Then we went out to the courtyard for the dancing to begin. The first, second and third years went and it they were all really good. Then it was our turn. It was hilarious seeing Mr.Lawless dressed up in his shark costume. We all had great fun and really enjoyed it.

After the fifth years performed our class had to leave because we had to be at our places to supervise the walk. I was with Aoife and Ms. Barrott. When everyone walked be we then joined the end of the line and then went back to school. We were all so disappointed because we didn't get drinks this year but anyway it was a good day in the end!

Then on the 10th of October we had a day were we wore our own shoes to school. It was fun seeing all the different  shoes people wore from wellies to heels. It was a fun day and a good experience. To make the day even better I made Lemon Cupcakes with vanilla icing in Home Economics. They were absolutely gorgeous!

First day of Work Experience

                                                    My Work Experience

For my work experience I am going to Zurich Life Assurance Company. The morning of my work experience I got up at 7 o'clock to make sure I was ready for work on time. I left my house at eight but got caught in traffic for an hour but thankfully I didn't have to be in the office till 10 o'clock. With some extra time to spear I went to Starbucks for a cup of tea and a criossant, it was gorgeous.
After I was finished I headed into the office to wait for my supervisor. My supervisor was really friendly and showed me around. It was funny because when I was being showen around I remembered being a child going to work with my Mam in the exact same building I am doing work experience in. It all felt strange and wierd but everyone was really friendly and tried to make me feel comfortable.
After showing me around I was shown my very own desk(I felt so proper). Then my supervisor explained to me her job as a complaints co-ordinator. In the middle of that she got a call from the man who next in line to the CEO position so that took up some time but it was interesting to see how people deal with pressure. After that I did some photocoping for a presentation she was doing. After that I got to listen into a few calls where staff where dealing with phone calls from brokers. Then we went to lunch with a few other staff members. I enjoyed their company and the banter they all had with each other and they all told me hilarious stories about my Mam that she never wanted me to find out so that made me happy. After lunch we headed back to work where I completed policies on the computer and then put them in envelopes to be sent off. I was afraid I was going to do something wrong but I didn't need to worry to was fine. I got a laugh out of some of the names which mad the time go faster. I finished directly at 4 o'clock and then was able to go home.

Junior Cert Results and Carlingford all in 2 weeks

Well it has certainly been a busy 2 weeks. From receiving my results to travelling to Carlingford for an action packed two days.
On the day before getting my results I was so nervous and could barely sleep with excitement but I was also so nervous. We didn't have to be in till 12 o'clock so I got a lie on but it was pointless because I couldn't sleep haha. My Dad dropped me at the school and I walked into the excitement filled hall. Everyone was nervous wrecks but thankfully we got are results fast and were out of the hall by quarter past twelve. I waited till I was outside to open my results and I was so happy with my results and felt proud of the results I got.
After my parents took me to lunch to celebrate. Then me and my friends got ready as we were going to Wrights to celebrate our results. It was a brilliant night and I had so much fun! Its safe to say that the day after was absolute torture but I got through it in one piece:)

Then while recovering from wrights we had to head to Carlingford at 7 o'clock in the morning on the 15th. I was excited but so tired to even do anything and on the bus I Slept for a bit and felt a lot better. When we got there we went kawking and it was so much fun. We also went to the beach and made a wish but what we didn't know was that ice water would be thrown on ice, it was freezing! It was so hard getting the wetsuits off.
After we went on a team building excerises which tested our patience with each other. The best excerise was when we were put in a pitch black maze and had to crawl around on our knees to find our way out. It was really hot but we finally got out in the end. After we went to our room for some well needed rest.
At seven we had to walk up this huge, steep hill for a trusting type of activity. We were blindfolded and with one hand had to hold on to a rope and with another had to hold on to the person in front of us. Finally we had dinner and enjoyed a disco and a chinese.
The next day we went kawking and then we went laser tag. That was the best thing about Carlinford and definetly brought out all of our competitive sides. Carlingford was so fun and I am so glad that I ended up going.
